The series was split into 12 episodes. The anime was made when there were only 4 volumes of the manga out, and the manga currently has 9 volumes. The characters are stunning, and you can become attached to them very quickly. There are a few differences between the anime and the manga, but since i have only read the first few pages of the manga, I don't know many of the differences.
