Another common arguement. Is downloading music for free off the internet reasonable?
As before, I will give reasons for both sides of the arguement to avoid being bias.
Why it is reasonable:
It is only reasonable to download music, if you can follow a few rules,
A) If you already own the music that you are downloading, then it is ok, as long as you are not using it for commercial purposes, and are not selling any burnt copies.
B) If you are using the music for evaulation purposes, and are deciding if you wish to buy the cd. This is only reasonable if you delete the music from your computer within 24 hours, and only download one track.
C) If the artists have given explict permission to download the music for free. Such as on ITunes, they have a free "track of the week" which you can download for free. There is also the music from the student bands in a college, which is also free.
Why it isn't reasonable:
Some people say that downloading music for free is okay, because they think that they are the only people doing it. But really, almost everyone does it. But what they don't realise, is that if everyone just downloads it for free, then the artists and music companys won't have enough money to make any more music, and then theree won't be anything new.
And yet again, I make a long-winded reply.
